Prepare copy for a design handoff
- Paste plain text or open a UTF-8 .txt file.
- Choose line-edge trimming or repeated space cleanup. Both target ordinary spaces and tabs; unusual Unicode spaces are preserved by default.
- Review the highlights. Red strikethrough marks removal, green marks insertion.
- Apply the preview or download it directly. Undo restores the previous text and settings.
Choose transformations for your language
English smart quotes use a limited paired-quote heuristic. They are not a universal punctuation corrector. French, German and other languages have different quote conventions. Measurements, nested quotations and leading contractions may need manual review.
Non-breaking spaces, zero-width characters and Unicode normalization are explicit options because they can affect meaning, wrapping or code points. TypeMay does not correct spelling or grammar and is not an AI writer.
Browser text areas normalize CRLF and CR line endings to LF when text enters the editor. Exports preserve the current preview, not the original file’s byte-for-byte line-ending format.
What gets exported?
The default typeset proof is an offline HTML reading sheet with licensed bundled fonts and a print layout. Use the browser to print or save as PDF; turn off its optional headers and footers. Font comparison selections and your local fonts are not embedded. Plain text is UTF-8. Safe text HTML escapes markup and preserves whitespace with a system-font layout. A project file includes your original text, cleanup settings, selected text language and reading direction. It does not include font files or your action history.
Continue with the Unicode inspector or font comparison workspace.
