Let a line become a thought.

Unwrap single line breaks in pasted copy while keeping blank-line paragraph boundaries. The tool below starts with that option selected.

From PDF copy to a readable paragraph

Text copied from narrow columns often includes a newline at every visual line end. Choose “Unwrap single breaks” to join those lines with a space. A blank line between paragraphs remains a boundary. For text that should not gain spaces, choose “Nothing” as the joiner.

    Read before you join

A line break may be intentional in a poem, address, list or code sample. TypeMay cannot infer that intent. Compare the original and preview before applying, and use Undo if the result loses structure.

    What about broken words?

“Repair line-end hyphens” joins ASCII hyphens followed by a newline when both neighboring characters are Latin letters in the supported range. It cannot tell a genuine compound from a word split by layout. The option is off by default. Soft hyphens, non-Latin words and OCR spelling errors need separate review.

Are Windows and Mac line endings supported?

Joining standardizes CRLF, CR and Unicode line/paragraph separators to LF first. Browser text areas normalize pasted/imported CRLF and CR to LF before cleanup. Other line separators remain in “Keep as they are” mode unless an explicit transformation changes them. Joining all breaks also removes paragraph boundaries, so use that option deliberately.

To examine the exact characters in a paste, open the Unicode inspector. For other formatting changes, use the text cleaner.
